This wedding reception got a little bit crazy at the end. But I’m going to have to ask Laura and John if I can post them on the blog before I actually do so. But here are a handful of my immediate favorites…
Holly and Mike were married at The Wild Onion Ranch in Austin, TX on October 13th. I don’t think this venue is open to the public yet, but it’s fantastic. Holly and Mike were such a fun, laid back couple who moved through their wedding day with what appeared to be no stress at all. They served bananas foster instead of wedding cake which everyone devoured. I absolutely cannot take credit for that rad frog shot at the end. My second shooter Beverly took it. Look how big that frog is!! He looks a little camera shy too.
Blake Dollahite is the brother of my friend, Alyson Fox’s fiance, Derek. He has been renovating his house for like 3 years. It’s about a mile from my house and I drive past it ALL THE TIME. Some might consider it stalking. But I’m not looking in the windows or anything illegal or weird! Just driving by slowly about every day. Sometimes I’ll be about to drive by it and I talk myself out of it, feeling a tinge of shame….I just love the house so much. Well, Alyson posted the interiors of his house on Design Sponge’s blog and now I will share them with you. Those of you who know me well, know that this is pretty much my dream house. Seeing the photos of the interior hasn’t quelled my obsession with this house. I’m now just amazed by it. Let me know what you think.
P.S. The house is legitimately on my way home from just about everything in town. So, it’s not that stalkerish….right??
It’s usually all about the dress. But Lee, my Ocotber 27th bride has taken it to a different level. Don’t get me wrong, the dress is unbelievable beautiful. Honest to God. But check out these shoes. Have you ever seen a more rockin’ pair of shoes to wear on your wedding day? Or any other day for that matter! There is nothing dainty about these. But they’re soooo HOT.
My friend Alyson Fox has a guest blog on designspongeonline.com. Alyson is a truly gifted artist, photographer, fashion designer…is that it? I’m SURE I’m forgetting something. Her talent truly runs the gamit. Her first post is of Sarah Blanchard’s house (coincidentally another friend of mine who happens to live in my neighborhood). Sarah and her mom, Kathryn own Home Girls, a store that specializes in perfect vintage pieces, refurbished furniture, found objects, etc. Sarah’s home reflect the Home Girls style, naturally. If you are in Austin or planning on travelling to Austin soon, you MUST visit the store: 4634 Burnt Road. For those redecorating or renovating, plan on dropping in once a week. It’s pretty addictive as the store is always changing. There’s always something fantastic to be discovered at Home Girls!
We had the pleasure of working with Lauren & Michael on their wedding last Saturday at Villa Antonia in Austin. There was a terrible storm that blew through an hour before the wedding. Thankfully the rain let up and provided for perfect light. The photo gods were on our side. These are only a handful of my quickly edited favorites.
