Sleeping in Public, no one is safe.

Not even my friends. Well, everyone except for Emily Joyce, my second shooter. She was trying to nap on a bus while we were in Ireland and she had her face covered with her coat so that she wouldn’t end up on photosmashing. Fair enough. I felt bad because she looked uncomfortable and it seemed unfair. So Emily gets a free pass. The rest of you guys are fair game, so watch out:Please excuse the quality of the photo below. It was taken at night on a plane. But I couldn’t resist THREE people sleeping all within shooting range. It was almost too much.

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday.
See you in 2009!

The wedding we shot on December 6th had five flower girls and two ring bearers. Seriously. The were all first cousins, so they were pretty close. They were also pretty well behaved! Of course there were moments of mischief, my to my delight.

OK, I’m not really sure how I feel about the photo below. Pointing and laughing at one child usually results in crying. But he was OK. His little cousin was there to comfort him.
When I saw what was going on in this photo, I thought that the little girl in the middle was being teased and tortured. But I was wrong, she was giggling up a storm as she was spun around by her arms and her tights. Pretty fun. I was kind of jealous!

Bridesmaids, praying and primping.

Well, I’ve shot the last wedding for the year. Now it’s just holiday orders and end of the year wrap up. Oh yes, and Christmas shopping. My gosh has it been cold in Austin the past couple of days. It even snowed. The problem is that it will get very cold and then warm again, so we’re never really sure what to prepare for. But at least it feels like Christmas right now.

I’m still working on achieving a festive mood or feeling the holiday spirit, if you will. Perhaps I should buy a tree? A fake one? A funky pink tinsel Christmas tree?

Any ideas?

Have a good weekend!

Austin, TEXAS y’all.

Well, it turns out that this is what Austin, Texas looks like like in December. For some reason it doesn’t look like Austin, Texas at all.

Happy Holidays,
(still looking for that Christmas spirit…any ideas?)

Becca & Reese – The Blanton Museum and Uchi.

Here’ s some more of my favorite photos from Becca and Reese’s wedding.

If you live in Austin, Texas you know how cool this is. Uchi catered the cocktail hour. I’m not going to lie, I see a lot of great things at weddings. But Uchi? I’ve never seen that. Being such a massive Uchi fan anyway, I was practically giddy!!

To make it just a little bit (or a lot) cooler, Tyson Cole, was there too! Swoon.

This was the first wedding that The Blanton Museum has ever held. Big props go out to Sarah Miller and Coby Neal with the Flower Studio for putting together such a gorgeous and modern event. Also, a big thank you (as always) to Emily Joyce for being such a superstar second shooter and Kim Maguire for lending an important photo hand as well, especially at the last minute!

Go team. Rah rah rah.

PS – If anyone has any idea about helping me get into the Christmas spirit, I’d love to hear it. This bah humbug I’m sporting is not cute at all!
