Margot and Brett’s New Orleans wedding, first post
The BODA FOTO Workshop is coming up!
On December 6th, I am joining forces with the uber talented Jennifer Lindberg to teach a workshop for photographers that are just getting into the wedding business. We understand how overwhelming it can be to shoot your first wedding (or actually get paid for shooting your first wedding). During this workshop we’ll cover pretty much anything you feel like you need to know as well as many many things you didn’t even KNOW you needed to know. We’ll also be having portfolio reviews. Don’t be shy! Just bring us whatever you have. It’s going to be a fun day and I guarantee you’ll walk away from it with lots of knowledge that will boost your confidence. Also, after the workshop we won’t forget about you. We will be checking in with all of you to see how it’s going. We still have a few seats left so visit the BODA FOTO website and sign up today! Keep in mind that this isn’t a shooting workshop so leave your cameras at home but bring your laptops.
We will be announcing our shooting workshops in the future. So stay tuned for that!
TGIF, y’all,

Buy TOMS for your wedding.
“The way the Bridal program works is for bridal parties wanting to wear TOMS in their weddings we will give them a 10% discount on a order of 10 or more pairs. The way this works is someone in the bridal party would need to collect sizes and styles from everyone based on the availability at www.TOMSSHOES.com and then contact us through the weddings@tomsshoes.com email with that information and we will take care of the rest. Note: we need about two weeks from the time we take the order to the time they are at your door – so plan accordingly.”
One little picture from the NOLA wedding.
In addition to having perfect New Orleans charm, this wedding had the perfect use of the color yellow. It’s just my opinion that bold colors like yellow (and purple) can overpower a setting when used in great excess. To all of my brides that have used yellow or purple in their color schemes: NO, I’m not talking about your wedding! But sometimes people can get a bit carried away with their favorite color. I think you all know what I mean.
Here’s to the appropriate use of a dominant color (and to weddings in New Orleans)!
More photos coming sooner than later,

More coming soon!!
Holga – El Cosmico, Marfa, Texas
After an exhausting weekend of shooting two days of a gorgeous wedding celebration in Houston, I find myself dreaming of West Texas. Specifically of El Cosmico in Marfa TX. Everything there slows waaaaaay down. Phone reception is spotty at best and West Texas has the most beautiful big sky that you could possibly imagine. At night, it seems like you can see every star. When you’re there, activities include: sitting still, walking (but only if you really want to), swatting flies, listening to the wind, watching mind blowing sunsets (and sometimes sunrises) drinking beer and chatting with friends (or just sitting with them in silence). Does this sound boring? Well, it’s not. It’s wonderful.
El Cosmico is basically a camp site. But it’s from the creative mind of Liz Lambert and her insanely talented team of designers, dreamers. So it’s special, clever. It has refurbished vintage trailers, a large tee pee, and yurts on site and available for renting. Or you can simply camp in tents.
If you’re looking for bliss, which at this very moment I am doing, go to El Cosmico.
