Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Let’s pause from weddings for a moment for a little music.  I photographed Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at Austin City Limits Festival earlier this month.  They’re most well know for there song: “Home.”  Which is one of the sweetest songs I’ve heard in a long while.  The energy of the band interacting with their crowd was magnetic (no pun intended) and infectious.  If you haven’t heard home, you should do so immediately, click here: Home

Enjoy the music!

Bride + hallway + shadows = LOVE.

We went to Dallas a few weeks ago to photograph Tiffanee and Richard’s wedding at Union Station.  My second shooter, Kim Maguire, captured this moment of Tiffanee walking down the hallway and I love it!   It was shot at the Mansion on Turtle Creek before the wedding.  More from this wedding coming soooon!!

Bridesmaids’ tired feet.

This is  a familiar scene towards the end of a reception.  But not before the ceremony!  However, I have to admit, it’s a wise decision for the bridesmaids’ to rest their feet as long as they can.

Ellen + Blake, Old Glory Ranch – Wimberley, Texas

This is the moment that Ellen saw the fireworks which were a surprise from her parents!

Congratulations Ellen and Blake!!

This wedding has been brought to you by:

Old Glory Ranch

They did pretty much everything,, including the flowers and arranging the fireworks.  This is such a great location for a wedding.  I really love it!!

Oh yeah, we also have a new blog, as you can see.  It’s my first post and we’re working out the kinks.  But so far so good.

Austin City Limits Festival, from the sky.

On a rare occasion, I get to do something truly incredible.  This weekend, I went up in a helicopter to photograph ACL Fest from the sky.  With much internal squealing and butterflies in my stomach I was lucky enough to circle the festival several times to shoot it from all angles.  Then, much to my delight (and for reasons I will never quite understand because it had nothing to do with the festival), the pilot flew us up Congress Ave THROUGH THE BUILDINGS, around the Capitol, the to campus and we circled the UT Tower as well.  Again, I have no idea why, but I’m really thankful we did!!

Those photos are coming soon.  But here’s the shot of the festival and beautiful Austin, Texas:

Holga – Aspen, Colorado

Well, for the second time ever, I put a roll of color film through my Holga on a recent trip to Aspen.  The outcome was a kind of vintage faded feel.  These are straight out of the camera.

I think I prefer b/w….
