I’m so excited to announce my new venture, Heirloom, is featured today on Junebug Weddings! After being disappointed for years photographing beautiful wedding dresses on less-than-beautiful hangers, I decided to fill this niche in the market by creating handmade wooden hangers. Each hanger is made entirely in Texas and is customized to each bride by laser-engraving their name, the name of the couple or the wedding date onto the wood. Not only are the hangers functional, but they are a beautiful heirloom that will forever remind you of your wedding day. If you are interested in more details, fill out the inquiries form on the website, www.shop-heirloom.com and stay tuned for more beautiful wedding items to come from Heirloom…
I first met Lindsay and Jason last year when I shot her sister, Hillary’s wedding. Working with this family has been such a pleasure! The mother of the bride(s), Shelley, was instrumental in designing each of these weddings. Along with Caplan Miller, David Kurio and the rest of the creative team, they turned the 2nd floor of The W in Austin, TX into a gorgeous, modern affair complete with an enormous, acrylic chuppah on the balcony and an entire room dedicated to candy. The whole room. AND Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was playing all night in the candy room all night. Nice, right? There are plenty of more details sprinkled throughout this wedding. Make sure you look through the gallery to see them in all their glory.
Have a great day, world!
I am always pleased when the wind picks up while I’m shooting. It creates a sense of movement and glamour.
I always notice that brides get a little nervous when wind begins to pick up. I always assure them that no, the veil is not going to fly off their head! Well, usually not….So, on your wedding day, pray for wind. I think wind is a very good thing.
We are always so pleased when Junebug Weddings features a wedding that we have shot. This particular gem was really fun! The couple, Sarah and Chris requested that I shoot with my Holga camera as well as digital. This always seems to be a good indicator that the couple will be easy to work with and that photography is really important to them. Frankly, they were a dream come true!
Thank you Sarah and Chris for hiring us to shoot your wedding. Thank you also for the kind things you said about me in the post. That was unexpected to read!!
